About Us
Owning a small sailboat teaches you that loving a boat means taking care of the less romantic things, too.
Cleaning off bird droppings. Tidying loose lines. Watching equipment slowly weather in the sun. Like many boat owners, the founder of SailboatCover wanted to look after his boat—and spend more of his time at the marina enjoying it.
He tried different covers, but too often they disappointed: colours faded, rain found its way in, or seams gave out sooner than expected. Finding a rope bag or a cover that properly fitted a particular piece of dinghy equipment could be just as frustrating. Small things, perhaps, but things that made a difference every time he went sailing.
So he began sourcing fabrics, choosing outdoor sewing threads and working with suppliers to develop fabric suited to his needs. Then he learned to sew. At first, he simply wanted to make a few useful things for his own boat. If something did not fit, he unpicked it and tried again. If it proved awkward to use, it came home for another adjustment. One piece at a time, that work grew into SailboatCover.com.
For us, the purpose is straightforward: giving equipment you care about a well-fitting cover, finding a home for the lines under your feet, and leaving you with one less thing to sort out when you step aboard.
We know why you take such care of your boat. The days you spend sailing her are precious—and you want to make the most of them.
